A free charming gacha roleplaying game

Gacha Club is a free roleplaying game that features gacha mechanics or ‘gachapon', in-depth character customization, an interactive story, and battle mechanics. Gatcha Club stands out from other gacha style games like Genshin Impact and Raid: Shadow Legends by implementing a robust, 100% free character customization tool, allowing you to change the style of the characters to your desired look.

Gacha Club currently offers 150+ unique characters that you can edit, take into battle with battle mode, or participate within various minigames.

What content is free in Gacha Club?

Gacha Club doesn't have a monetization scheme currently in place, meaning players cannot purchase extra pulls, exp upgrades, materials, or otherwise. While this model is mainly unheard of for a gacha game, it allows players to experience everything completely free while simultaneously encouraging players to try each game mode and focus on progression. Similarly, parents do not have to worry about their child accidentally purchasing anything while playing.

Can you customize Gacha Club?

Customizability takes center stage in Gacha Club, providing ample options for creating the perfect characters. Gacha Club's focus on this feature allows players to create a team of anime-inspired characters. Players can then alter each character's body proportions, hair, facial features, and clothes, including the ability to change props, pets, objects, and chat features. Once your character is customized, you can transport them into the in-game studio, which offers a wide range of options to create the perfect scene for your characters.

What are Gacha Clubs' pull rates?

A significant drawback to many gacha style games is the inclusion of unfavorable character pull rates. Rates can be as low as 0.2% for a legendary character. Whereas Gatcha Clubs rate sits at a 1% chance, significantly increased from the norm. These rates add to the game's overall enjoyment by increasing the chances of pulling a rare or powerful character. However, players will need to play the game and rack up the in-game currency to make these purchases.

Gatcha Clubs story and battle mode

Gatcha Clubs' story plays out like a visual novel with characters communicating through a text box that players can read and follow. Once the scene has finished, a battle map opens where you can select various stages and participate in battles. Battles play out automatically as your units work together to defeat enemies. During the battle, you can click a character to unleash a devastating special move, making it essential to choose the right moment to strike.

How to get stronger in Gacha Club

Each character has an element, making them weaker or stronger against their countering element. So, building a team of different elements helps cover your weak points. In battle mode, players can take on the elemental towers; battles against enemies of one element. To progress through these modes, you'll need to upgrade your units and enhance their skills. Focusing on the strength of your team rather than the strength of a single unit will significantly aid in your ability to progress through more challenging content.

What age group is Gacha Club for?

Lunime has worked hard at updating Gacha Club to be friendly to younger audiences after feedback to their previous game Gacha Life. Many of the poses and in-game elements were updated as a result. One change included removing the multiplayer component. These changes have allowed Lunime to provide extensive quality in other departments. However, this does leave a lot to be desired for replayability. Once you have completed the game, there is no reason to return to the replay again.

Does Gacha Club run well?

For the most part, Gacha Club runs as intended. Unfortunately, there is a significant in-game lag that is not a result of poor internet connection or device choice. This lag causes frequent crashes or 5 second periods where the game stalls. For the most part, this is only inconvenient, but in some cases, a crash can force you to re-open the app and lose out on character creation progress.

Is Gacha Club better than Gacha Life?

Gacha Life is the predecessor to Gacha Club and features similar functionality. The distinctive difference is that Club focuses on providing options for character progression and systems to engage with battles. In contrast, Gatcha Life doubles down on the social element of character creation by offering a "life" mode where the goal is to build relationships with other characters. Club also has a slight graphical upgrade which might be more appealing when creating your characters.

Should you try Gacha Club?

Gacha Club undoubtedly excels at character customization and as a character collecting gacha game. Any anime enthusiast or lover of chibi art will fall in love. Yet, players that love deep and engaging battle mechanics or multiplayer may find that this game falls short. If you're looking for a game where you have total control over your team, both in appearance and power, then this is for you, but if you're looking for something deeper, you might find games such as Genshin Impact, FFBE War of the Visions, or Arknights to be more suited. But for a free game, Gacha Club is worth a try.
